Why we built CodeDark Health.
CodeDark Health was created by engineers and hospital technology veterans who have seen firsthand what happens when EHRs and networks go down. Our mission is simple: keep hospital operations online when core systems are offline.
CodeDark Health exists to safeguard continuity of care, protect patient safety, and preserve hospital revenue during outages, cyber incidents, and planned downtime.
- Design an offline-first platform that clinical staff can rely on in the worst-case scenario.
- Support inpatient, ER, pharmacy, lab, L&D, EVS and billing from a single, unified system.
- Export structured data back into EHR and billing systems with minimal reconciliation overhead.
After multiple high-profile EHR outages and ransomware events, it became clear that “paper downtime kits” were no longer enough. Hospitals needed a portable, secure, and structured way to keep recording care and services when systems fail.
CodeDark Health was designed in close conversation with clinicians, nurses, pharmacy staff, and IT teams to capture what actually happens on the floor — not just what looks good in a diagram.
David is a long‑time technology innovator with deep experience in healthcare, hospital automation, and mission‑critical systems. He has spent decades working with hospitals on label printing, patient ID, and mission‑critical middleware.
CodeDark Health brings this experience together into a single platform designed specifically for downtime operations and continuity of care.
- Data encrypted at rest on each device and in transit during sync.
- Role‑based permissions and staff‑level access control.
- Structured logs for audit, investigation and compliance reporting.
CodeDark is built for CIOs, CMIOs, CNIOs, nursing leadership, pharmacy directors, lab managers, EVS managers, and revenue cycle teams who need confidence that work doesn’t stop when systems do.
We work with hospitals, health systems, and specialty centers that want to move beyond paper downtime kits to a structured, digital, offline‑capable platform.
